3rd XV Captain in Match Fixing Scandal!

Mr. James "Cronje" Tibbott, current 3rd team captain is currently under investigation from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs concerning alleged match fixing in a BUSA South East Conference Division 4C clash with Kings College London 2ndTeam.

It was late on in the aforementioned game, with the medicals trailing by a mere 3 points, that captain and “goal kicker” Mr. Tibbott signalled for the posts. In the events that followed, the accused is alleged to have deliberately miss-kicked the conversion, moving the ball a matter of inches rather than the requisite 30 metres that was required of the kick. Compounding the case against him, Mr Tibbott tried to cover this by “trying to play on”. The Referee (who is also under investigation in this matter) then blew the final whistle using a clause in the laws (that state that once a signal has been made to kick at goal a reasonable (and not pitiful) attempt at goal must be made) to bring an end to a game which otherwise might have been drawn by the medics.

Mr James "Cronje" Tibbott we believe has been fined half of his match fee and was given an internal club fine for this most heinous of crimes (namely many gins).

Investigations continue and it is likely that the player’s full trial will be held on the 21st of March in Howards Hotel, Cornwall. All are encouraged to attend this hearing where Mr. Tibbott is likely to represented by the well respected, but as yet unproven, L.A. Law Team of Joshua Robertson QC and Guy Martin QC.
